Parliament denies the National Police Service Commission powers

The National Assembly has denied the National Police Service Commission the powers to recruit the Inspector General of Police and the two deputies. In the amendments to the national police service act, the National Assembly instead gave the president powers to constitute a seven member selection panel with representation from various bodies to undertake the recruitment.
