06 September Monsoon Update: Skymet Weather

http://www.skymetweather.com/ - Clouds: In this latest satellite image we see patches of thick monsoon clouds covering parts of sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast India. Whereas, some parts of Chhattisgarh, Orissa and north Tamil Nadu will have mostly cloudy skies today. Rainfall: Rain will continue in Northeast India but will become mainly light, with just one or two moderate spells at isolated pockets. Imphal and Tejpur recorded 63 mm and 27 mm of rain respectively in the last 24 hours. Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will also receive light rain today. Kolkata may record rain of up to 5 mm in isolated pockets. Entire central India will experience dry weather today except for parts of Chhattisgarh and Orissa. North India -- It will be a dry and less warm day for almost entire north India. Temperatures may drop in the plains, but only marginally, due to cool westerly winds. Maximum and minimum temperature may drop by a degree in Delhi, settling at 35 and 25 degrees Celsius. In the hills, light rain will bring the temperatures near the normal average of 24 to 29 degrees. East India: Temperatures will rise in east India as rain has decreased drastically. Maximum temperatures in Lucknow and Patna will be 2 to 3 degrees above normal at 35 and 34 degrees respectively. On the other hand, temperatures which fell by 4 to 5 degrees in Northeast India, due to heavy rains in the last 48 hours, will now start rising and will come close to normal. Central India: Except for parts of Chhattisgarh and Orissa, where rain is a possibility today, temperatures will be on the higher side in entire central India. Madhya Pradesh, Vidharbha, Marathwada and Gujarat are maintaining temperatures 3 to 4 degrees above normal at most places. Cool westerly winds will be the only source of relief from the warm weather. South India: Today, parts of south interior Karnataka will have below normal temperatures. Day will be comfortable at 28 degrees while night will be cold at 20 degrees. Tamil Nadu may witness a slight drop in the day temperature due to clouding and light rain.
