Today we are going to review part number C56515. This is the CURT Vehicle Wiring Harness for factory tow packages with the 5 way flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit part number. It does fit many vehicles. What I would recommend is to go our website, use our fit guide, type in your year model vehicle and it'll show you if this part will work for your application. Now this part will provide a five way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. This is designed to be used with a factory tow package. On a five way your fifth pin actually provides the connection to reverse lights to allow proper functioning of your hydraulic break actuator. If you just have a four-way, this is compatible with four-way flat trailers. You just plug it in and not use the end pin. This does connect quickly and easily. There is no cutting or splicing of wires. Basically you just locate your connection point behind the rear bumper. Use this plug-in connector to plug it in and then you have your five way to extend out to plug in your trailer. It does also come with this nice dust cover that all you have to do is just attach this around your five-way and you can leave it on there if you like and then what happens when you're not plugged in to a trailer you can just put this cover over all these terminals and it will protect them from any damage or from the elements getting to them. This part is made in the U.S.A. It also comes with a nice set of detailed instructions. It'll show you how to install it and pictures of where it will connect. So basically all you'll need to do is this custom fit connector right here will plug in to your vehicles factory tow package. It is usually located behind the rear bumper along the driver side frame rail. Once the installation is complete you can just stow this five-way beneath your vehicle near the trailer hitch. Now any time you do make an electrical connect we do like to recommend to use some dielectric grease on all your connectors to prevent corrosion.
