StormTrack 8 Morning Forecast for Thursday July 18th

ANOTHER SCORCHER No letting up on this heat as we're entering our 4th straight day of temperatures in the 90s. No backing off on the dew points either in the low to mid 70s resulting in heat index values as high as 105 degrees each day. Scattered cumulus clouds will pop up again during the late morning and afternoon hours, but warm air aloft eliminate any chance for a well needed shower. After another sultry day with highs well into the 90s Friday comes that all anticipated frontal boundary which is expected to slide across the area by that evening. Showers and thunderstorms along this boundary appear to be few and far between with the best forcing just northeast of the Quad Cities. At least we won't miss out on the refreshing air behind this boundary. Thats still expected to be felt this weekend with highs still in the lower 80s! -James Z.
