The beat goes on for our July heat wave. Friday will be our 5th consecutive day of temperatures in the 90s. In fact, Friday could be the worst day of all with highs reaching the mid 90s and dew points well into the 70s. The dynamic duo will generate a dangerous heat index nearing 105 degrees. Scattered cumulus clouds will pop up again but warm air aloft will keep thunderstorms away during the day. Friday night a long anticipated cold front is expected to pass during the evening. Scattered thunderstorms should form along the front but the best forcing and organized storms are expected just northeast of the Quad Cities. However, even if we avoid the storms we won't miss out on the cooler drier air that follows the front on Saturday.
