USWA Championship Wrestling – 7/7/90 (7/21) - WMC & Evansville Quick note: In July '90 the promotions transitioned back to the old, non-Dallas-centric format. 7/21 syndication pulls from this studio show, so I've added the relevant Evansville promos, from the 7/21 syndicated episode to the end of this show. Dave opens the show - Quality is wonky here but it improves in the first match. Deuce Mason v Jerry Lawler Jerry Lawler interview - Jerry is transitioning back to babyface and the crowd is about 50/50 before the interview. He calls a member of Snowman's crew over named JJ. Snowman's group is chanting "get bucked" and Lawler wants to know what that means. Lawler says he's had a falling out with Ronnie P. Gossett. Downtown Bruno offered to help Lawler but Jerry is done with managers. Bruno inserted himself into the match on Monday, and cost him the match against Snowman. VTR: Jerry Lawler v Snowman - Downtown Bruno pushes Lawler's foot off the rope allowing Snowman to retain the title. Jerry Lawler interview con't - Lawler concludes by saying he doesn't think Downtown Bruno and Snowman are working together but you never know. He issues a warning to Downtown Bruno which brings out Bruno, Jeff Gaylord & Scott Braddock. Bruno's men tell Lawler to leave, which he does. Downtown Bruno, Jeff Gaylord & Scott Braddock interview - Lawler returns with a baseball bat and Bruno's guys take off. Jerry finishes his interview. Snowman interview - Snowman denies any involvement with Downtown Bruno and says he'll hurt Jerry Lawler this week. TD Steel v Snowman - Snowman works TD over after the match to make the crowd cool off toward him and clear the way for Lawler's full turn. Tim Hall & Ben Jordan v Scott Braddock & Jeff Gaylord - Jerry Lawler joins commentary. VTR: Bill Dundee v Tony Anthony - Tessa & Dirty White Girl brawl after the match. John Tatum runs in and gives a spike piledriver to Dundee with Anthony. Bill Dundee & Tessa interview - Dundee says he's hired a guy to back him up for $5,000. He says he's made a deal with the devil. Guy Coffee walks on and says Dundee's partner won't come out as long as Lawler is on set. Lawler leaves and Eddie Gilbert makes a surprise return. Eddie vows not to double-cross Dundee and he's been waiting since 1986 to finish off Tatum. The Dirty White Boys & Dirty White Girl storm the set and jump Dundee & Tessa. Bill fights them off but Eddie doesn't lift a finger to help. Eddie says Bill paid for Monday but not for today, it will cost more money for today. Dave & Bad Wayne Bright from Cool 101 run down Monday's card Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl interview Bill Dundee v Ken Wayne - Eddie Gilbert is in Bill's corner and barely paying attention to the match. Whenever Wayne cheats Eddie tells the referee that Dundee did it. The Dirty White Boys run in and when Tessa begs Eddie to help, Gilbert throws her to the floor. Jerry Lawler makes the save and the former AWA tag champs reunite. Dundee offers Lawler Eddie Gilbert's $5,000. Lawler says he'll fight Gilbert for free. Jerry is back as lead babyface in Memphis and all is right with the world. Jerry Lawler interview - Lawler immediately is back to doing charity softball around the territory. Dave runs down this week's tour VTR: Kowabunga the wrestling turtle promo video - Chris Champion wearing a head-to-toe ninja turtle costume. Ken Wayne interview - Ken tells the kids "look, this is a guy in a turtle suit." He also promises to kick the shell out of him. Rex King & Joey Maggs v The Dirty White Boys - Jerry Lawler & Bill Dundee run-in with a baseball bat and a trash can. They brawl all over the studio. Dave runs down Monday's card Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl interview Eddie Gilbert interview - Gilbert feels that Bill Dundee is cheating him. Eddie says if he doesn't get his money he'll hurt Bill Dundee & Jerry Lawler. Downtown Bruno, Jeff Gaylord & Scott Braddock interview - Bruno cuts the third promo in a row on Jerry Lawler to cement the King's turn. Because of that, the 7/14/90 WMC broadcast never aired in syndication.
