Today we're going to be taking a look at part number 56042. This is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-pull flat trailer connector. This product is designed for certain years of the Toyota Highlander, and it's going to provide your 4-way flat connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. This is designed for vehicles that have a factory tow package already installed. It's going to be compatible with 5-pull, 6-pull, and 7-pull adapters. Those items are sold separately. If you need one, you can find those here on our website. Now the benefit of this system is it connects quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any of your wires. All you have to do is locate the connection point in your rear cargo area. That's going to be behind the driver's side interior trim panel. It's going to come with instructions, it's going to walk you through the whole process step by step, so it's going to allow you to locate that connector as well. Once you find that connector, simply just plug in the connectors. They're going to match up perfectly. They're going to snap together for a nice tight, secure fit. Once you have that done, that's really all there is to the installation. We do recommend that you use some of the included zip ties to secure any of the excess or slack wiring that you may have, keep it up and out of the way, and that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all electrical connections to prevent any type of corrosion from being able to settle in. Once you're done, the connectors are going to be stowed in an out of the way area in the rear cargo space. I did take a measurement of the wiring before I started the video and it measured right around 61 inches. You're going to have about 60 inches of wiring to work with, which should give you plenty of wiring to reach out the back of your vehicle and make your connection as necessary. It's also going to come with a nice dust cap. That way you can protect the connection points here on the plug when it's not being used. That's going to do it for our review of part number 56042.
