Here I`m playing on my classic 1977 Buddy Rich Slingerland 80N drum set. This was the first year Slingerland used 5 ply thick shells of Maple and Poplar wood with no re-enforing rings. I had some drummers who wanted me to do a drum solo workout of these 1977 Slingerland drums, so here it is. Most of the time I use my 1970 Slingerland BR drum set with my Ken Loomer Big Band, so I have these drums set up in my house. I never have anything planed when I practice, but just play and try out new idea`s. I thought this workout drum solo turned out very well. I just use the technique I have and tried out new idea`s on what to play. These 19977 Slingerland drums sound amazing, and they bring out the best in my playing. Of course I`m playing on a 14x24 inch bass drum, 9x13 inch tom, two 16x16 inch floor toms, and the amazing 5.5x14 inch TDR Buddy Rich model snare drum with the straight edge hoops. These are great sounding drums made by Slingerland that are so much fun to play on. You can check out the many video`s I have posted of me playing on my Slingerland drums with my Ken Loomer Big Band.
