Northeast Ohio Forecast: Lake effect snow into Friday; Another round Saturday night

The lake effect snow machine will continue to churn out heavy snow squalls through tonight. Periods of heavy snow and gusty winds will give way to traveling impacts. The main squall will be focused across Southern Cuyahoga County through Southern Geauga, Northern Portage into Trumbull Counties where 4-8 inches of new snow could accumulate. Elsewhere, loose, broken bands of snow showers will continue across the primary snowbelt. Expect 1-4" of new snow where those snow showers are most persistent. Even southern counties could pick up a quick 1/2 inch tonight on random snow showers. Lake snow will wrap up west-to-east by Friday and Saturday morning. Cloudy skies will linger Saturday with temperatures the 30s. Ideally, Saturday will be the day to travel back. Our next system will be arriving late Saturday afternoon into Sunday bringing widespread snow to the area. We have issued Weather Impact Alert days for both Saturday and Sunday for potential accumulating snow beginning late afternoon or evening on Saturday and continuing into Sunday morning. Rain could mix in a bit during the day Sunday with some lake effect snow setting up in a few snowbelt spots by Sunday evening. Since Saturday & Sunday are BIG travel days, stay alert for the latest changing weather conditions! Read more: https://www.wkyc.com/article/weather/...
