Ken Loomer Big Band-Love For Sale with Drum Solo

This is one of my all time favorite charts that I play in my Big Band. This of course was the chart Buddy Rich made famous with his band. There will only be one Buddy Rich! He was one of a kind. I wanted to do this drum feature to honor what he did for drumming, but most important to me,what he did for Jazz. I know I will never come close to what he did on a set of drums, but I know he would of approve of my effort to keep his music alive and to make sure the Big Band sound will live on.It was the music he played that made me want to play the drums. For this musician, there is nothing like driving a Big Band and to make it swing. It`s a labor of love to keep a Big Band going, but with hard work and having the right musicians who believes in this music, this great american jazz artform can live on.In Buddy`s honor I decided to do Love For Sale and I made a few changes to fit what I wanted to do.This concert was at the Holiday Inn in Sarasota,Florida. The soloist on this chart are Jim Burge-alto sax, Tom Parmerter-trumpet, and Tony Benade-tenor sax. So if anyone has some ideas or ways I can bring this great music to the people, please let me know. Thanks so much for supporting Big Band Jazz.
