**Get Your FREE Metal Guitar Practice Guide here: https://www.jasonstallworth.com/guita... In episode 15, we're going to revisit pull offs in our metal riffs and rhythms, but this time we're going to include hammer ons with pull offs. Hammer ons with pull offs are often used together within the same riff to give you a specific sound and tone. This is something you'll want to have to pull out from your arsenal of riffs! Hammer ons with pull offs need to be played quickly and swiftly, and smoothly. In fact, it's difficult to play them slow. It's a quick snap effect. You basically go from one note to a higher note with a hammer on, then pull off (release) to the prior note, and sometimes you'll pull of to an even lower note (in our case, you end on the open string before going to the palm muting part of the riff). With playing the hammer ons with pull offs, I have you playing some classic metal guitar palm muting. Why do we do this? Remember, we don't want to just play the metal riffs. We also want to integrate other parts of what would be a song, so that you can play these metal guitar riffs in a real world scenario. I hope you learned something new from this metal guitar lesson of playing hammer ons and pull offs! Make sure you share this video with your metal guitar friends!
