In Lesson 13 of 30 Days of Metal Riffs, we're going to explore a different style of metal guitar playing that we have not yet learned in this series with alternate picked notes. This sort of falls along the prog metal meets thrash metal style of guitar, and perhaps a hint of metalcore. We are alternate picking each note, but not in a death metal or thrash metal type of playing guitar. This technique is more of a mid-paced speed of alternate picking and the focus is on alternate picked notes that are single notes. I break down the metal guitar lesson into two sections. So you'll learn each metal riff played with single notes, using the alternate picking technique. It's a very rhythmic style of playing and you really have to get your right hand, or picking hand, in sync with your fretboard hand.
