StormTrack 8 Morning Forecast June 19, 2015

TGIF! And welcome to the day with the best weather all week! We've got mostly sunny skies on tap today with low humidity. Look for highs around 80 degrees with a gentle breeze out of the east. Tonight will be another cool one as we dip to 60 degrees with fair skies. However, a warm front will work in toward dawn. This warm front will really bring back the Summer heat and humidity! We'll quickly rise to 87 in the afternoon with heat index values around 94 for the afternoon. By then, showers and a few thunderstorms will begin to pop. A few storms could turn severe with damaging wind and large hail for Saturday evening. Some flash flooding will also be possible! Storms will pivot south of the Quad Cities by 10pm, affecting the US-34 corridor through the overnight. Again, some flash flooding will be possible. The front will stall in Western Illinois on Sunday so showers and storms will focus themselves south of the Quad Cities. -Meteorologist Eric Sorensen
