Aleppo battle ends as rebels agree to ceasefire with Syrian government

Syrian rebels are preparing to withdraw from the city of Aleppo on Wednesday morning, after reaching a ceasefire agreement with the government, ending years of fighting and months of a bitter siege in the city. The ceasefire came about as a result of talks between Russia, President Bashar al-Assad's main ally, and Turkey, a leading backer of the rebels.
