Iraqi policeman walking near wreckage STORYLINE: A string of bombing attacks in Baghdad has killed 16 people and wounded at least 56 others. According to an Iraqi police official and a medical official, the first attack occurred Monday morning when a car bomb exploded in the centre of the capital, near the Iraqi National Museum killing at least six and wounding 16. An Iraqi police official said that about an hour later, a roadside bomb targeting a police patrol in eastern Baghdad killed two people and wounded six. Another police official said that 30 minutes later, a third attack occurred when a car bomb exploded in a market in the northeastern Baghdad, killing two and wounding 12. The same police official said that minutes later, a parked car bomb exploded in a market in the impoverished Shiite are of Sadr City, killing six people and wounding 22.
