Exteriors of prison after drug lord escapes

(12 Jul 2015) A manhunt is still underway in Mexico for Joaquin Guzman, the head of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel. Top drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman escaped through a 1,500 metre (4,921 feet) tunnel that opened from the shower area of his cell, Mexico's top security official announced on Sunday. Eighteen employees from various part of the Altiplano prison 90 kilometres (56 miles) west of Mexico City have been taken in for questioning, according to Mexican authorities. Associated Press journalists near the Altiplano prison reported that the roads are being heavily patrolled by federal police, and checkpoints have been set up. Flights were also suspended at Toluca airport near the penitentiary in the State of Mexico.
