New Year`s Day 2020 Dynamic Drum Solo-Ken Loomer Big Band

First I want to wish all of my fans the best ever New Year for 2020. Here is my first video for 2020 and of course I`m playing on my 50 year old Slingerland drums that I got way back in 1970 .These are the Slingerland Buddy Rich Model 80N set with the 14x24 inch bass drum,9x13 inch tom,two 16x16 inch floor toms,and the amazing 4x14 inch BR snare drum.I`m still using all the original Slingerland hardware that came with this drum set,the Buddy Rich cymbal stands,Rocket snare stand,Dynamo hi-hat stand, tempo king bass pedal,and the cymbal mounted bass drum cymbal arms.All shells are the 3 ply maple,polar,maple with solid maple re-enforcing rings.All drums have the big warm wide open tone that projects so well. This is from my Big Band concert I did a few days ago at the Latin Quarters club in Sarasota ,Florida. I`m doing what I love best which is kicking a roaring swinging Big Band with my classic Slingerland drums. As one of the rare drummer Big Band leaders today,I plan on to keep this Big Band going for 2020 so the people of today get to hear one live! As you might know,the big news for 2020 is that DW Drums bought the Slingerland drum company and plan on making these great drums again.I`m sure DW will do a great job of making Slingerland drums and I look forward to what they will be making.I have used Slingerland drums now for 50 years.Where has the time gone to. No way would I ever thought I would have my own Big Band like Buddy Rich,Louie Bellson,Gene Krupa,and Mel Lewis. All of these great drummer Big Band leaders I just mention of course used Slingerland drums. In this video I`m playing Love For Sale ,one of the great charts made famous by Buddy Rich. i must thank all of my amazing musicians in my Big Band for always giving a 100% to the music I choose to play. In this type of open drum solo, I just play how I feel and want it to be exciting for the listeners and tell a story. I thank all of you who have watched my video`s.
