First Reading: Genesis 44: 18-21, 23b-29; 45: 1-5 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 105: 16-17, 18-19, 20-21 Alleluia: Mark 1: 15 Gospel: Matthew 10: 7-15 Jesus who is meek and humble of heart is inviting us to form our hearts in the way of humility and complete trust. Lowliness disposes our hearts to recognize and honor the presence of God who can transform us to be worthy disciples. He then invites us in today’s Gospel to go and proclaim. “The Kingdom of God is at hand.” (cf. Matthew 10:7) It is good to begin with this posture of submitting ourselves to God’s transforming love that we may be effective missionary disciples. This is the 1186th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
