Flaked Fish Sandwich (1939) on Sandwiches of History
The name Flaked Fish Sandwich sounds straightforward enough, but as we’ve seen with these old cook books sometimes what you see is to what you get. Fortunately, there are only 4 ingredients in this and one of them is flaked fish. It didn’t specify so I went with what I think is and probably was one of the most ubiquitous options in the day - cod. Often times, I know what I want to plus a sandwich up with once I read the recipe. Today, I let the sandwich’s flavor guide me.
