StormTrack 8 Morning Forecast June 9, 2015

We're entering the time of year when thunderstorms will become a possibility almost every day. Instead of looking for big low pressure systems or cold fronts, we're looking for areas of high pressure which will overcome the instability brought on by heat and humidity. But even though the 8 Day Forecast is quite stormy, please remember that these storms will likely only last 1-2 hours out of the 24 hour day. Having said that, today will be mostly sunny and dry. Highs will reach up near 88 this afternoon. A few thunderstorms will be possible after midnight tonight with lows around 67 degrees. We're back up near 90 for tomorrow and Thursday with increasingly humid conditions. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible Thursday. More numerous rain and thunder likely on Friday. The weekend looks mainly dry. However, there will be a few thunderstorms around. But this shouldn't ruin your outdoor plans. Just keep an eye out for one or two to roam the skies overhead. -Meteorologist Eric Sorensen
