Europe’s largest car manufacturer Volkswagen has been in the headlines several times over the last few weeks, but after a few tricky twists and turns it now seems to be back on a steady course. At today’s annual general meeting in Hannover, company group boss Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn emphasised that the way ahead has now been clearly defined, and that the company can now concentrate fully – and above all - on business. At the same time, Martin Winterkorn expressly thanked the former head of the supervisory board, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Piëch, on behalf of a total of almost 600,000 employees, but also personally, and paid respect to his dedication and commitment to the Volkswagen Group.
