Watch again: UN officials discuss North Korea human rights abuses for first time since 2017

The United Nations Security Council met publicly on Thursday, 17 August, to discuss human rights abuses in North Korea in a move requested by the United States, Albania and Japan. The discussion, which was the first formal public meeting of the 15-member council on the issue since 2017, was expected to anger Pyongyang and faced opposition from China.
