11-hour ceasefire to be observed in Aleppo

An 11-hour ceasefire was scheduled to begin in the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo at 8 a.m. local time on Thursday. Russian and Syrian warplanes halted airstrikes on Aleppo on Tuesday, with Lieutenant-General Sergei Rudskoi saying they have kept at least 10 kilometers away from the city. Russian President Vladimir Putin says Moscow is ready to extend the ceasefire "as far as possible."
