Potoler Dolma - Potoler Dorma - Stuffed Parwal - Stuffed Pointed gourd - Mother's Recipe

Home Style Indian Cooking. Traditional Bengali Cooking. Quick & Fast Cooking Today we are going to make "Potoler Dorma/Stuffed Parwal ". Its very easy and testy. Ingredients:- Parwal/Patol 5 No's For stuffing:- Prawns 150 grams washed & chopped Chopped onion -1 cup garlic 5 cloves Scooped Potol/ Parwal's seed Grated coconut 1/2 cup Few raisins Green chilli - 2-3 1 tablespoon mustard oil For Gravy:- Onion paste - 1 medium size Tomato paste - 1 medium size Green chilli paste -3-4 no's 1 tablespoon poppy seeds paste 1/2 cup curd 1 teaspoon cumin seed 1 teaspoon of cumin powder 2 teaspoon of turmeric powder 2 teaspoon of Kashmiri red chilli powder 2 teaspoon of garam masala salt & sugar to taste Procedure:- 1.Wash and clean the potols. Brush off the peels with a knife gently. 2.Cut the one end of the parwal/potol like a small cap.Scoop out the seeds from one end. 3.Keep the seeds aside. 4.In a mixer grinder add grated coconut , garlic, green chilli & scooped potol seeds and grind it. 5.In a Kadai/Pan add oil, add chopped onion once the oil is hot. Add chopped prawns & turmeric. 6.Add the coconut & Potol seed paste. Mix it well. 7.When the mixture dries up, take it out of the heat and keep aside to cool. add raisins. 8.Once it cools down, fill the potols/parwals with the stuffing – till the edge and packed tightly. 9.Seal the edges using toothpick. 10.In a pan again heat some mustard oil and fry the stuffed potol/parwal. 11.On the same pan add some oil and add cumin seeds. 12.Add onion paste & green chilli paste. 13.Add salt,cumin powder,Kashmiri red chilli powder & turmeric powder. mix it well. 14.Add Tomato paste, poppy seeds paste & curd. Mix it properly. 15.Saute the masala at regular intervals until the oil starts separating from the edges of the masala. 16.Add remaining coconut & Potol seed paste. 17.Add water & let it come to boil.Cover the Pan. 18.After a couple of minutes, add the stuffed potols/parwal and let it simmer on low heat till gravy thickens. 19.Add garam masala powder,cover the pan and remove from heat. 20.Serve hot with steamed rice.
