SKorea, Japan and US discuss NKorea crisis

(19 Apr 2016) The US Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken and Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Akitaka Saiki met with the South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se in Seoul on Tuesday. The meeting followed trilateral talks held earlier between Blinken, Saiki and the South Korean Vice Foreign Minister Lim Sung-nam on North Korea sanctions. The various talks came a day after South Korea's President Park Geun-hye said there were signs that Pyongyang was preparing for a fifth nuclear bomb test amid reports of increased activity at the country's main nuclear test site. The trilateral meeting was an extension of last month's trilateral summit in Washington during which the three countries' leaders agreed to enforce their security cooperation against North Korea's continuous threats.
