THE HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN AND UPON Sunday 29th December 2024- Second service The demand upon us is to stir up revival in this nation and globally. This requires us to be on fire of the Holy Spirit 24/7 because He is the only help left with us to live a victorious life. John 7:37-38 [37] On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. [38] He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water." "Out of his heart" signifies the Holy Spirit within and the prerequisite for the infilling is being thirsty and empty. When the solution came to the woman in *2 Kings 4*, she was given instructions to bring empty vessels and she gathered as many as possible; the flow stopped the moment all the vessels were full. You must be empty to be filled. John 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. The disciples were considered born again the moment Jesus breathed on them. The Holy Spirit came into their hearts and recreated them: that is the "Holy Spirit within". Luke 24:49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” Previously, Jesus had breathed on the disciples and they had received the Holy Spirit ("Holy Spirit within") but this time, He told them to tarry in Jerusalem until they had been endured with Power from high which is the "Holy Spirit upon". To witness to Christ, we need to be clothed with power and authority (the Holy Spirit upon). (Acts 1:8) Matthew 28:18-20 We need both dimensions of the Holy Spirit: "the Holy Spirit within" and "the Holy Spirit upon us" to operate. The 'Holy Spirit upon' is for the execution of work. All authority has been given to Christ and now He has given us; we need that power to operate. We enter that office of authority, clothed with power from on high. This is when we begin to exercise authority and everything bows. Demons will not bow to us as individuals but to the higher authority that we are clothed with. There are arrows thrown at us that we cannot see but if we are clothed, they will recognize that we are standing in the authority of the most High and any force coming against us is against the High authority. The "Holy Spirit in us" is for our strengthening and transformation to reveal Christ both in character and actions. The daily work going on within us by the Holy Spirit is for our daily benefit. If Uganda must bow, then we must be full inside and outside: fully dressed with the power of the Most High that wherever God has placed each of us, things begin to bow and we reveal Jesus Christ. Jesus will not only be revealed in power but also our character. There is an inner shaping of a character on a daily basis that every time we cry to Him, more of Him is added to us and we are transformed and transfigured into Christ.
