Catholic Priest Wins Settlement Against British Hospital After Being Fired | EWTN News Nightly
A Catholic priest who served as a chaplain in a hospital in London recently won a settlement with the United Kingdom's National Health Service. Father Patrick Pullicino says while serving in a hospital he was fired for expressing the Church's teaching on homosexuality. The Malta-born priest, who was once a professor of neuroscience, sued for harassment and religious discrimination. In his settlement, he was awarded around $12,000. Fr. Patrick joins to share his reaction to winning the settlement. He takes us through what happened. A patient asked the priest questions about Church teaching on marriage and same-sex relationships. Fr. Patrick spent around 20 minutes answering the questions. The next day, the patient filed a complaint. Fr. Patrick gives us a snapshot of life for the faithful in the United Kingdom.
