On "EWTN News Nightly" tonight: A new pro-life measure just signed into law in Florida that bans abortion after six weeks of pregnancy has, not surprisingly, drawn the ire of the pro-abortion Biden White House. And Senator Ronan Mullen joins us from Ireland to share how President Joe Biden's trip has been so far and how he has been received in Ireland and Northern Ireland. On Capitol Hill, federal spending and raising the debt ceiling will be front and center next week when Congress returns. House Republicans remain unified over agreement to raising the debt limit, but only if there are also budget cuts. Democrats warn that strategy could lead the country into default. Meanwhile, a Catholic priest who served as a chaplain in a hospital in London recently won a settlement with the United Kingdom's National Health Service. Father Patrick Pullicino says while serving in a hospital he was fired for expressing the Church's teaching on homosexuality. He joins to share his reaction to winning the settlement. Finally this evening, this Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday, a relatively new feast in the Universal Church calendar. It was brought into the calendar in the year 2000 at the canonization of Saint Faustina. Director of the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, Fr. Chris Alar, joins to tell us what is a little unusual about Divine Mercy Sunday. ------------ EWTN News Nightly provides the latest news and analysis from a Catholic perspective.
