Eight Virginia Tech freshmen slightly injured in truck accident
7492 (Start film) Eight Virginia Tech freshmen suffered minor injuries yesterday when a National Guard truck in which they were riding overturned. (show film) The truck plunged into Macks Creek in Pulaski County. The students were part of 120 freshmen who had been to Camp Powahatan to an orientation class. The truck driver, Gene Henegar of Roanoke, said the steering mechanism jammed and the vehicle rammed thru a bridge railing and toppled into the creek bed. None of the youths was seriously hurt. They were taken by ambulance to Pulaski Hospital for treatment.
