Baptism of the Lord is an important aspect of Christmas Season. It marks the end of Christmas and the beginning of the ordinary time. Luke, in the uniqueness of his account, tells us that after all have been baptised, Jesus was baptised by John before the beginning of Jesus' ministry. A voice spoke from the heavens in affirmation and confirmation of the identity and ministry of Christ. In Baptism we go down into the tomb with Christ in order to be raised with him. Remember the words spoken upon your spiritual life at Baptism. 'You are mine, the Blessed Trinity declared, my favour rests upon you.'
