Various Parts of China Enveloped in Thick Fog, Smog

Various parts of China are enveloped in thick, white fog on Sunday. In north China's Shanxi Province, haze and fog reduced visibility. Ten cities issued an alert to the severely polluted air. Construction sites and companies that produce pollution in urban areas have stopped operation. Drivers were required to drive alternate days according to the even- and odd-numbered license plates. Hebei Province and Tianjin Municipality have closed several expressways on Sunday morning, as the dense fog had reduced the visibility to less than 100 meters. Surveillance video showed that everything became blurry in the fog. Flights in southwest China's Chengdu City were delayed due to the fog on Sunday morning. A large number of flights were canceled. More than 4,000 passengers were stranded at the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. The airport issued its first red alert in three years for the unusual delays. Many major expressways were also closed from Saturday night. More on: http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20161204...
