Welcome to my channel and my second video. It's also my first forays into proper editing, not just chucking a few clips together on my phone and posting that, so critiques are welcome, all I ask is that its constructive. So the video, I decided to make a catch and cook video to hopefully inspire people to get out there and help our native White-Clawed crays... by eating all their enemies, the Signal Crayfish! #gnawAcraw2restore The Signal Crayfish are an invasive species in Europe, which means not only are they not supposed to be here, but they are having a detrimental effect on our native crays, our waterways and our lakes. They carry something called Crayfish Plague (Aphanomyces astaci) which is a fungus-like disease that is fatal to our endangered White-Clawed Crayfish and spreads via waterborne spores which are released from infected crays. In addition, they grow faster, are bigger and are more tolerant of a wider range of conditions and environments. This makes them a major threat to our poor native White-Claw. In fact, the White-Claw is being brought close to extinction. I hope that you are inspired to get out there, find some public land with a body of water and give it a go, help our native crays and bag yourself a tasty meal in the process. Here's a link to a helpful site giving more details on the Signal Crayfish and its effects on waterways; https://www.waterways.org.uk/news_cam.... Thank you for joining me and I hope you enjoy.
