Galveston Surfside Wade Fishing | Plus Fishing Report and Tips

Aug 5, 2020 We wade fished the surf of Galveston Texas in hope for some green and clear water. We fished with live croaker under a popping cork. After a very slow start and no fish in Galveston we drove a little further south to Surfside Texas, where we found some very clear water. After a few cast I caught a nice surf speckled trout between 16-17.5 inches. We fished there several hours on the 1st and 2nd sand bar (be extremely careful if you try to go to the 2nd sand bar). Eric had a couple small sharks hit his line and had one pull the hook. Other than that it was a slow bite. We didn't see any one catching and fish in Galveston and only a couple specs & 1 drum caught at Surfside. The surf forecast looks great for the rest of the week; I know that greener water will make its way into Galveston sometime over the next few days so keep your eyes out for that. We it comes in those fish shouldn't be far behind.
