Pokemon Fire Red Omega - No Level Part 13: Sabrina

Pokemon Fire Red Omega - No Level Part 13: Sabrina

   • Pokemon Fire Red Omega - No Level Part 1: ...   Read the complete rules of the run here In this challenge, I made it a point to take on each new gym leader available immediately without waiting until better wild Pokemon become available. For instance, Misty can be delayed until you travel to Vermilion, and Erika can also be delayed for a while. This made those gyms quite challenging. That said, I decided to do Sabrina after Blaine, even knowing Blaine's levels are higher. Simply put, countering psychic-types is harder in this challenge, even though anybody who trained a Houndour (available before the first gym but suffering from movepool issues for quite a while) shouldn't have any trouble here whatsoever. Snorlax's special-sponging abilities become less pronounced knowing the sheer power the Pokemon here pack and the level difference. A lot of stuff runs Calm Mind so Snorlax can be blown away after a couple turns of setup if he doesn't kill on time. And I did take appropriate measures for (and against) this. I cashed out the sizeable sum of money for the Shadow Ball TM - something I probably could've done earlier (since we've been facing the Rival with his Psychics and whatnot) but this is the best time to use it. Snorlax is capable of 2HKOing most of the Pokemon seen here, but still needs help with survival. For this, I brought a lv. 46 Blissey from the Three Islands sidequest. She has more special bulk than Lax at lv. 40 and even knows Light Screen to stay in without many worries, set up the screen and then switch out when its target has been slept. Lax and Blissey function as a duo - Lax attacking and hiding when in danger (Rest/STalk is not safe enough, nor very reliable, in spite of me having a Chimecho with Heal Bell in the party), recovering health with Leftovers upon switch-in, and Blissey making the switch-ins safe. These two can't quite double team everyone though. For instance, Espeon using Calm Mind repeatedly is a bit too much, and the enemy waking up at the wrong time can mess things up. I brought Aerodactyl who does outspeed some guys, but the bigger bro is Guts!Swellow with Fly, Choice Banded and poisoned to deliver huge damage. The only reason why it's not OHKOing Jynx is because of the base stat boosts the humanoid mons got in this hack. And last but not least, Electrode can fill the shoes for offence when both Snorlax and Swellow have been knocked out. This thing's surprisingly powerful in this hack, unlike it's the case in any of the vanilla games. Also, Lax should be careful when he decides to gamble for the para proc with Body Slam. Gardevoir and Espeon aren't good targets due to Synchronise, nor is Alakazam. Challenge playlist:    • Pokemon Fire Red Omega - No Level-up Run (...
