Evidence of COVID-19 in Italy earlier than initial reports

Italian experts say COVID-19 may have been circulating in Italy earlier than first thought. Scientists have found traces of the infection in wastewater collected from Milan and Turin in Italy's northwest. The National Institute of Health says the genetic traces had been found on the 18th of December. China reported its first cases in late December and Italy reported its first case in mid-February.
