Italy surpasses more than two million COVID-19 cases

Italy has become the eighth country to record more than two million coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic. The country holds Europe’s highest death toll from the virus reporting more than 71,000 lives lost since February. Italy recorded just under 20,000 new infections and 459 deaths overnight.
