TOPIC: HOW DO I RESPOND TO JESUS WHEN HE ASKS ME THE QUESTION: WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM? First Reading: Isaiah 22: 19-23 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 138: 1-2a, 2bc-3, 6, 8 Second Reading: Romans 11: 33-36 Alleluia: Matthew 16: 18 Gospel: Matthew 16: 13-20 Jesus asks Peter, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter’s response? "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus invites us to respond in the same way. Saint Ignatius of Loyola’s response, like St. Peter’s, embodied his belief that Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, is our Lord and Savior. St. Ignatius lived this belief in his radical self-giving and openness to the love of Jesus. May we respond to Jesus with the same openness. This is the 1220th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Israel Silud, as he brings us today's reflection. All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
