Drum Solo By Ken Loomer

As Buddy Rich once told Larry King, the best drums I ever played was Slingerland. These drums you see in the video is my Slingerland Buddy Rich 80N model kit that I bought in 1976. This has the 14x24 inch bass drum,9x13 small tom,and two 16x16 floor toms. The snare I`m using is a 5.5x14. This of course is the famous Marine Pearl Finish. All the drums are wide open for that big melodic tone which are so clear on these drums.Every little beat you play on these drums comes out so clearly. The bass drum is also wide open with only a 1 inch felt strip on the back head. The Zildjian cymbals I`m using are all from the 70`s. Two thin 18 inch crash,6 inch splash, heavy 20 inch ride, and 13 inch new beat hi-hat cymbals. I`m using no mic`s on the drums so you get the natural sound of these Slingerland drums. I own a lot of the newer Pearl,Gretsch and Ludwig drums and these Slingerland still sound so much better because of the tone and how easy it is to get that big fat open sound which I love. So for me,these are the best drums ever made. For bio about me and my bands,go to kenloomer.com.
