Seems like an impossible task, but that’s exactly what motivates our team of Climate Control engineers at FCA. We wanted to create a system that would keep everyone comfortable, in just about any climate… with minimal effort. So, we designed Auto mode to do just that, and we tested it from the Kalahari desert to the Alaskan tundra. See, unlike manual climate controls that you have to constantly adjust, Auto mode does the work for you. All you have to do is set the temperature, then press Auto, and your vehicle will go from too hot or too cold to just right – and stay that way. It automatically adjusts settings like fan speed and air distribution. And if your vehicle has multiple zones, like driver and passenger, or front and back, each zone can have its own temperature, and still function automatically. Plus, Auto mode is smart! It knows when to use the air conditioner and when not to… which makes it more fuel efficient. It even knows when to draw in fresh air, when to recirculate, and when to clean the cabin – for maximum performance and optimal air quality. You get comfortable faster… while saving gas… and saving money. When the temperatures outside are a little more extreme, two more automatic climate features are there to help you out. Say it’s the middle of summer, and your vehicle’s been baking in the hot sun all day. The inside of your car feels more like the inside of an oven. Turn on Max A/C, and your system will run at full capacity to cool things down as fast as possible. Or, it’s the dead of winter, and your car is, shall we say, “slightly chilled…” It’s Max Defrost to the rescue. If equipped, Max Defrost will take all the necessary steps to defrost your windshield as fast as possible – all you have to do is turn it on. So, the next time you’re on the road, instead of playing around with climate settings and getting nowhere fast… just use your Automatic Climate Control System.
