Raila: Government must stick to deadlines of IEBC exit
CORD Co-Principal Raila Odinga is asking the government to stick to the deadlines agreed upon by the Joint Parliamentary Select Committee on electoral reforms and the exit strategy of IEBC commissioners. Raila is blaming both Parliament and the President for delaying the passing of and assenting to the bill, which sets a bad precedent. He is calling on the government to make sure that the commissioners vacate office by the 1st of October. Raila's push comes amid fears that failure to have new commissioners by Friday next week, could derail the electoral reforms agreed upon last month.
