The latest has to do with immigration and Trudeau's promise to double immediately the number of family reunifications accepted as part of our immigration system. They’ve already gone back to the old target. There was the promise to run small, deficits, of $10 billion a year which is now out the window with some estimating the annual deficits could hit $25 million a year. Plenty of Canadians voted for the Liberals due to their promise to do away with community mailboxes and bring back door to door delivery. Is that happening? Nope. They’ve put a moratorium on new community mailboxes but haven’t said if they’ll restore service. What about the CF-18s coming home? Two months after taking power the jets are still there with no signs the bombing will end soon. Asked about it time and again, the Liberals will not commit to ending the bombing. Canadians were also promised that the Canada Pension Plan would be enhanced. That won’t happen any time soon either because the provinces were not on board and you can’t change the pension without the provinces. Just ask the old government. Justin Trudeau and his Liberals promised to do everything different from the way that Stephen Harper and his Conservatives did. We do have more selfies with the PM and more stories about the PM doing selfies with ordinary Canadians instead of Harper just actually meeting and talking to people without the news release and media fanfare. But on a host of promises Trudeau is behaving just like harper without being called out for it. He’s also reminding me of Dalton McGuinty who made hundreds of promises and didn’t fulfil most of them though he did follow through with his progressive plans that have wrecked wrecked the economy, unscathed by the media or the public. My fear during the election was that Justin Trudeau would do the same and get the same pass from the media. I warned for a long time that if you liked what Dalton McGuinty had done for Ontario then you would love Trudeau and what he would do for Canada. I hate being right but looks like this time, once again I was. He's breaking promises left and right but his push to wreck the economy will continue. Do you think maybe, these promises should have been vetted during the campaign rather than cheered on by the media?
