WEDNESDAY 7TH DECEMBER 2022 - CRIME WATCH LIVE HIGHLIGHTS FROM TODAY'S SHOW: A taxi driver was gunned down after he refused to drop two passengers off-route on Tuesday night. • 38-year-old Robert Cudjoe of Petit Bourg, San Juan was shot in the head by one of two male passengers after he refused to drop them at an off-route location alone Warren Roan in Cunupia late last night. • Around 11:30 pm on Tuesday 6th December 2022, officers responded to a report of shooting along the Uriah Butler Highway and upon arrival, in the vicinity of the Charlieville walkover, they observed a silver Nissan seven-seater Serena registration number HCA 168 on the western lane of the highway. • Officers made a further check and observed the deceased slumped on the driver side of the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the back of his head. • Cudjoe picked up to male passengers on the Curepe taxi stand and upon reaching the vicinity of Warren Road along the highway, one of them asked to be taken inside the same road but the driver refused and was shot to the head. The men then escape on foot. A man was shot and killed inside a vehicle at Cantaro Village in Santa Cruz outside a pan yard overnight. • Initial reports on the incident states that 35-year-old Aziz Diaz aka “Z” of Mitchell Street, Santa Cruz, was at the Pan Jammerz Panyard when he left and entered the driver’s seat of his blue Hyundai Accent motor car registration # PDR 7290 which was parked along Chicquito Drive Santa Cruz. • The victim was shot multiple times by unknown persons and he reversed his car for approximately a quarter of a mile before it crashed into another car which was parked along Parang Boulevard, Cantaro Crescent. • Diaz then ran out of the vehicle and into a nearby yard and the police were notified. PC Powell and Williams responded and took Diaz to the Mt. Hope Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The victim was shot multiple times about the body. Bandits waited at the home of an Arima businessman last night then proceeded to rob him of thousands of dollars and his $400,000 vehicle last night. • Police said around 8pm on Tuesday 6th December, 2022, the 45-year-old man arrived at his D’Abadie Arima home in his Nissan Moreno vehicle, registration PCX 9447, when he was accosted by three armed men who were already in his yard. • The suspects, police said, dragged the victim out of his car and proceeded to beat him about the body after they announced a robbery. • Police said the man was relieved of his black Samsung S10+ cell phone valued at $4000.00 TT, and the suspects then entered his vehicle, which had an envelope on the front passenger seat which contained $70,000. Police are probing a new trend where criminals are deliberately bouncing their victim’s vehicles in order to get them to stop before robbing them. • There have been two similar robberies in Tunapuna, one on Monday afternoon and the other on Tuesday night. On Monday 5th December, 2022: • An unarmed employee of Westco Foods Unlimited Company located at Century Drive, Macoya, Tunapuna, was robbed of thousands of dollars while performing cash-in-transit duties for the company in Tunapuna.
