Sky News host Chris Kenny says the “worrying” coronavirus that began in Wuhan China is “surely a global pandemic and will be declared as one soon enough”. Mr Kenny said regardless of how many Australians become ill or how long the outbreak lasts, “it is clear the economic damage will be severe”. This is “dramatic and worrying for the global economy” due to how closely tied Australia is to China, he said, and “without China firing up again soon, we are going to be hit hard”. “The bright side, if you're looking for one, is carbon dioxide emissions, no doubt they will be plummeting too in China. “There is nothing that helps cuts greenhouse gas emissions better than a collapsing economy, looks like the climate activists are about to get their wish for a while.” Image: AP
