Kevin McCarthy Returns To Capitol Hill To Talk About Matt Gaetz's Sex Life

Former Representative Kevin McCarthy returned to Capitol Hill this week for some reason, and he decided to attack Matt Gaetz as he spoke briefly with reporters. McCarthy, unprovoked, suggested that Gaetz lies about who is sleeping with, a direct jab at Gaetz over his ongoing scandal that threatens to end his career. Gaetz responded with snark on Twitter, but he understands how bad the situation is for him. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what happened. Link - https://www.mediaite.com/politics/mcc... Former Republican congressman Kevin McCarthy, made a surprise appearance at the Capitol this week where he held a little impromptu, I guess, press conference. And he talked to reporters and one of the things he talked about, bizarrely enough was Matt Gaetz's Sex Life during his back and forth with reporters. This week, Kevin McCarthy suggested that Matt Gaetz is lying about the people he sleeps with, which of course is a reference to the ongoing House Ethics committee investigation into Matt Gatz. But still kind of a weird thing to bring up. You know, Kada makes us wonder, were you there on the Capitol meeting with Republicans who just got all this bombshell evidence against Matt Gaetz this week? I don't know. Kada seems like that may have been what happened, but here is the exchange that Kevin McCarthy had with the reporters. First they asked him, you know, have you talked to Trump about Matt Gaetz ousting you? And this is what he said about that. He said, I don't know how close you probably think the president is to Gates, but you should probably figure that out. Okay, so he's one implying that Matt Gaetz is definitely not as close to Trump as the media thinks, but two, also a little snarky and mean man, like you, you, you left Congress at the end of 2023. You've had a month and a half to basically take a vacation. I would think you'd be a little nicer. I, let's be real, right? I mean, you don't need to work. You've got money. So you would think that after a month and a half of just kind of taking a break and chilling out, you wouldn't be as angry, but you seem pretty off for a guy that's not had to work for quite a while. He then added this Gates probably makes up a lot. He probably lies about who he sleeps with too. That, of course is a reference to the ongoing investigation. Now to his credit, Matt Gaetz actually responded to this on social media saying, what stage of grief is this? Well, that's funny enough, Matt, but I would say it's the stage of grief where the House Ethics Committee got their hands on your text messages this week. So I'm glad you're having fun with it because it's not gonna be fun as time rolls on here. In case you're not familiar with that story. Yes, it was revealed by a b, C news this week that the House Ethics Committee does in fact have Matt Gaetz's text messages that show him texting one of the women that he allegedly paid for sex. So Eek. And it's not just him texting her, it's him asking her via text, Hey, you wanna fly on a private plane down to the Florida Keys for a couple of days? It's gonna be four girls, two guys, crazy adventurous group. He says. So that's, that's pretty bad. And the House Ethics Committee, of course, has secured cooperation from not only the woman who Gates allegedly slept with, but also from Joel Greenberg, his wingman. He is the one who actually gave them the text messages, I think. Uh, so Gates is in a lot of trouble, but it still raises the question is why Kevin McCarthy was even on the Capitol to begin with. I think he's there to get the update from his Republican friends that are conducting the investigation to find out where things stand right. There's nothing wrong with that. He can do that, but I think McCarthy was trying to signal to the press, we know things about Matt Gaetz and trust me, it's about to get worse for him.
