About the Speaker: Siddharth Kankaria a science communication practitioner with a background in Biology and Science Communication. He currently works as the Outreach Manager at the Simons Centre at NCBS, and in his spare time runs a collective called the SciCommSci Club – Engaging with the Science of Science Communication. Siddharth loves engaging people with science. He is keenly interested in the science and sociology of science communication, studying evidence‐based science communication practices, and facilitating dialogues that bridge the gap between science communication research and practice. About the Talk: Science communication, much like storytelling, is an act of connecting people with emotions, information and shared experiences in the field of science. In this talk, Siddharth will discuss the basic tenets of communicating science using insights and examples from the practice of storytelling. He will share hacks and advice to help science graduates begin communicating their science, to not just inform but also engage their audience.
