(25 Dec 2019) The Berlin Swimming Club "Berliner Sea Dogs" on Wednesday had their traditional Christmas day plunge in Lake Oranke on the outskirts of Berlin. Some 40 members of the club braved water temperatures of 5 degrees centigrade (41 degrees farenheit), with the air temperature just a touch warmer at 6 degrees centigrade (43 degrees farenheit). But some complained it was too warm. "We could have had ice of course, that would of been even nicer," commented one of the swimmers, Boris Paunow. The swimmers sang traditional Christmas songs and drank warm drinks dressed in Santa Claus costumes.
