Xi, Trump discuss economic ties, Korean Peninsula

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump met on the sidelines of the G20 summit. President Xi said the two countries have successfully carried out the first round of the China-US Diplomatic and Security Dialogue, while the 100-Day Action Plan for the US-China Comprehensive Economic Dialogue has achieved breakthroughs during its initial stages. The Chinese president also said that the strengthened cooperation between China and the United States is conducive to global peace and prosperity. Meanwhile, Trump said he appreciated what China was doing to ease the tension on the Korean Peninsula. He also said he was confident China and the US could reach an understanding on issues, such as trade and the DPRK.
