#stringer #ochawk #media Hit and Run Suspect Leads CHP on Pursuit from OC to Riverside

On 1/31/2021 at approximately 3AM, A pursuit that began in Orange County entered the CHP - Riverside jurisdiction. CHP officers pursued the vehicle on the Eastbound 91 Freeway where speeds reached 90 MPH. At times the driver would slow and lead out of the passenger side window. CHP took opportunity to PIT the vehicle on the Eastbound 91 just East of Adams Street. It was a successful and the vehicle came to a stop. The driver exited the vehicle but failed to obey commands of officers. The suspect made abrupt and aggressive gestures towards the officers. Once the suspect turned around and attempted to run from them on the freeway, a taser deployment occurred. The suspect was struck with the taser and collapsed to the ground where he was taken into custody. The incident was moved off the freeway and officers transferred the suspect to an AMR unit where he was taken to riverside community hospital for evaluation. The original reason for the pursuit was Hit and Run out of Orange County.
