In nature, you’d find them on the floor of a tropical forest climbing up trees in order to be exposed to more sunlight. When climbing their aerial roots attach to the tree to anchor them. Best part is that their leaves get really large and mature as a result. So we are all about replicating that environment and supporting our plants so they can grow to their full potential! What you’ll need: -Plastic coated wire mesh in 1/2 inch size -Wire cutters -Zip ties or plastic coated twist ties like I used -Sphagnum moss -Mat to work on (or do this outside!) -Bamboo or metal stake. I didn’t need one, but depending on the plant you’re staking your pole to, you might! Start by cutting the plastic coated wire mesh the desired size for your plant. Shape it like a taco and then place dampened moss inside. Roll into a cylinder using zip ties or wire ties to close up the ends first, followed by ties every 4-6 inches or so. Cut off excess zip ties or wire ties. Place in pot with soil. Use plant velcro to secure your plant to it facing the aerial roots into the moss pole.. Watch your plant grow! Keep the moss pole dampened.
