Ontario announces funding for expansion of Toronto hospital – April 19, 2022
In a news conference in Toronto, Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliot announces over $1 billion in funding for the redevelopment and expansion of Unity Health Toronto’s St. Joseph’s Health Centre. She is accompanied by Dr. Tim Rutledge, president and CEO of Unity Health Toronto, Christine Hogarth, MPP for Etobicoke-Lakeshore, and Kinga Surma, MPP for Etobicoke Centre and provincial infrastructure minister. The health minister also responds to questions about the possible extension of the mask mandate in public spaces such as hospitals, public transit, and congregate living as the province continues to grapple with the sixth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
